| OUR PROCESS
Painting can
seem like a fairly simple process. But when it really comes down
to it,
there is a lot of potential for problems, miscommunications, and other
challenges.
There are no
lack of nightmare stories that people have dealing with painting
contractors these days, contractors of all trades for that matter.
We've broken our painting process down so our customers know exactly what
they are getting. This has proven to be the most-effective way to create
an
enjoyable experience and deliver a quality result. Once our customers see
the
result, they are always certain they made the right choice when choosing
us.
Color Consulting & Test Patches
Before the project starts, you should already have your
colors chosen. You and
your project manager will discuss colors and test patches of the colors you
like will
be painted on your home so you can see how the colors really look when
applied.
For customers unable to make color decisions, ask us about our
Color Consulting
Services.
Exterior
Painting Process
Step 1:
Pressure-Wash surface . Dirt, debris, insects, chalking paint and
other
obstructions must be washed off the home prior to paint
application.
While paint is made to bond to the surface, the cleaner that
surface is the
longer your paint job will last.
Step 2: Scrape all loose and flaking paint.
Step 3: Sand wood (Wirebrush for stucco where
failing). The edges of the paint
that is left after we scrape need to be sanded down.
Step 4: Prime failing areas. Where all wood and
exposed areas are showing, we
will prime with the proper primer.
Step 5:
Masking and Taping. Now that the home is prepped we will prepare
the
home for painting by masking all windows, doors, and other
non-painted
areas.
Step 6: Spray/Roll. 99% of our exterior paint jobs
are sprayed. Some times we roll
depending on the wind conditions and other factors.
Step 6: Trim-work, Windows, Doors. Once the body of
the home is painted we will
then begin painting the trim and accent colors.
Step 7: Final Touch-ups and jobsite cleanup.
Interior Painting Process
Step 1: Clear the area. If there is furniture in the room then we can
move it to
the center and cover it.
Step 2:
Prepare the room. Mask, tape and plastic all areas. Lay drop
cloths over
plastic for extra layer of protection.
Step 3: Prep all surfaces. Prime areas in need.
Fill holes and caulk where needed.
Step 4: Roll on paint (Spray if home is empty)
Step 5:
Trim, doors, and final touches.
